A platform dedicated to the relational future of robotics

Presença Relacional is an independent editorial space dedicated to social robotics and human–robot interaction (HRI). We bring together research, critical analysis, use cases and perspectives on how embodied robots are changing our relationship with technology — and what that means for healthcare, education, care and everyday life.

The manifesto on our Home page is a living document: a view of what the field is, what makes it difficult and where it is going. It is not propaganda or hype. It is an honest attempt to articulate the foundations, necessary capabilities, real challenges and potential of robotics that serves human purposes.

Why “relational presence”?

Because the central criterion for a social robot is not its shape — whether it has a face, legs or a human voice. It is the ability to participate in a human interaction with a role, context, perceived intent, safety and autonomy. The robot needs to perceive people, act clearly, respect boundaries and be safe enough to occupy real social spaces.

We cover markets, technology, ethics, regulation, academic research and practical applications. We write for robotics professionals, researchers, product designers, healthcare and education managers, and anyone who wants to understand the field beyond the headlines.
